I think it was the 1st flag to flag race shown on network tv, they used to just do parts of races on Wide World of Sports. The big deal was that most of the country was snowed in and nothing else was on tv so a lot of people saw NASCAR for the 1st time.

Cale should have won the race.He could outdrive Allison and he had a faster car. Allison knew it, thats why he ran him off the track. Cale almost won anyway. If he could have got back on without Allison in the way he would have taken it easy. He was cheated, thats why he got pissed off.
